Natural Yogurt Variations

I think I have natural yogurt obsession since I’ve got my yogurt maker.  Its fantastically simple and provides us with these delicious, creamy and super tasty yogurts.

I use it for cooking in place of crème fresh or sour cream, we eat it for breakfast, we blend it into smooties and Rián takes his fair share of the yogurt pots as well.

It tastes so good I started to explore different flavors that we can incorporate to make them even better. You can see below how little you need to make them. Try it for yourself even with store bought natural yogurt.

1) Blueberry compote yoghurt:

Ingredients:
1 pot of natural yoghurt
Half punnet of blueberries made into compote
Brown sugar

Blueberry compote:
Wash your berries and put them into the sauce pan and with a 1 tbs of water. Simmer over medium heat for about 5-7 min until the berries will soften up and get juicy. Use a potato masher to help burst them a bit and add sugar to taste.

2) Apple and pear yoghurt

Ingredients:
1 pot of natural yoghurt
Half of ripe pear grated
Half of an apple grated

3) Mango and passion fruit

Ingredients:
1 pot of natural yoghurt
¼ of a mango diced
Half of a passion fruit
Optional: honey to sweeten

4) Chocolate, banana and coconut

Ingredients:
1 pot of natural yoghurt
20-25 g good quality dark chocolate grated
1 tbsp of desiccated coconut flakes
Half a banana fork mashed
Optional: honey to sweeten

You can really use almost any type of fruit; it’s hard to go wrong. If you have the willpower not to eat them all in one go they keep well for a few days in the fridge.

Feel free to post below if you have any other flavour ideas. I’d love to hear from you guys.
